The Jadot family arrived in Beaune from Belgium in 1794 and purchased their first Grand Cru, the Clos des Ursules vineyard.

After his death, his son, Louis Baptiste Jadot, expanded his export markets and clients in France.
Baptiste’s eldest son Louis Auguste Jadot inherited the firm in 1939 and further extended the export to the United States, Great Britain, Holland, South America, and New Zealand.
In 1954, André Gagey joined Maison Jadot as an assistant to Louis Auguste Jadot. Today, he’s the Managing Director of the firm and oversees all the operations.
In 1991, his son Pierre Henry Gagey was appointed as the president of the firm.
