Burghound.com
Sweetish red fruit and a touch of game and truffle are followed by round, rich and supple flavors which provide very pleasant depth and length. It's not particularly deep or potent, but it's extremely stylish and perfectly drinkable today.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
I loved Rousseau Clos des Ruchottes 1991-Chambertin. It is another example from 1991 that is richer and more flavorful and complex than its 1990 counterpart. The color is deep ruby purple. The bouquet rises from the glass, offering scents of smoked meats, black and red fruits, herbs, and toasted oak. Rich and full bodied, with exceptional concentration and focus, this is a beautifully crafted, pure, well structured burgundy red. Rousseau, one of the benchmarks for great Burgundy, seems to have made 1991s that are even richer and deeper than his 1990s. His production was half of normal, so these wines will be difficult to find. find.
Wine Spectator
Lean and firm, opening into a wide finish that rises a crescendo of cassis, plum and blackberry with a coffee and some notes of spice. Sleek and more intense than most '91s.
