Burghound
Here the expressive and still relatively primary nose is ripe, pure and nicely complex that merges into detailed, balanced and harmonious flavors that like the 2001 are built more along the lines of a thoroughbred than a robust draft horse. I like the overall sense of grace and the only nit is the barest touch of greenness on the admirably long finish. By the incredible standards of this wine, a solid if not sensational effort though one that certainly transcends the vintage.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The star at chez Roumier in the 2000 vintage is Christophe’s Bonnes Mares. Its beguiling aromas of spiced sweet cherries lead to a medium-bodied, silky-textured character crammed with cherries, currants, and candied raspberries. Lush, generous, and pure, it is deep, concentrated, and possesses a long, expressive finish.
Wine Enthusiast
From its dense color and its thick aromas of smoked meats and hedgerow fruits to its dense, rich and concentrated fruit, this is a superlative wine. The solid fruit and hugely extracted tannins give it great weight. This could age for at least 20 years, and certainly won’t be ready to drink before 10.

Good medium red. Smoky red raspberry and strawberry fruit aromas complicated by earth and menthol. Fat, lush, full and sweet; not yet as aromatic or as precise as the Amoureuses but shows lovely texture. Long finish features smooth, fine tannins and sweet red fruits.
