(like the Clos de la Roche, this is aging in 15 new oak) Medium red. Exotic aromas of red cherry, spices, flowers and orange peel. Sweet and juicy, with more lift but less volume than the Clos de la Roche. Ultimately more perfumed in the mouth. Finishes with sweet but firm tannins and excellent length. (ST)

Knockout aromas of kirsch, black cherry, truffle, underbrush and smoked meat combine with rich, precise and punchy mineral-infused medium full flavors that culminate in a supple, round, sweet and earthy finish. While the flavor profiles are completely different, qualitatively this is the equal of the Clos de la Roche.

Shows the ripeness of 2003, yet remains fresh, with plum, tobacco and chocolate notes. Balanced, with volume and a long, licorice-tinged finish. Best from 2008 through 2022. 24 cases imported.
