Only 50 of the crop was utilized in this 1,415-case blend of 90 Merlot and 10 Cabernet Franc. Elegant, earthy, black cherry, and currant notes are interwoven with notions of smoke and truffles. Possessing excellent texture, ripe fruit, and good body as well as length, if it develops more complexity, it may merit an outstanding score with additional time in the bottle. It should evolve for 15 or more years. Pomerol enthusiasts need to keep a watch for this estate as it is beginning to produce superlative wines.
