Wine Enthusiast
Made by Hubert de Boüard of Château l’Angélus in Saint-Emilion, this is a spicy, modern, toasty wine, showing how good Lalande de Pomerol can be if treated correctly.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Hubert de Bouard’s reference point estate in Lalande de Pomerol continues to produce wines that are truly revelations of what can be accomplished in this appellation. His 2004 La Fleur de Bouard (80 Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc as well as a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon) is a fabulous sleeper of the vintage. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by scents of cassis, blackberries, smoke, licorice, and background new oak. Medium to full-bodied with fabulous fruit, supple tannin, and low acidity, it should be enjoyed over the next 7-10 years.
