Wine Spectator
There's a sense of elegance here, a perfect foil for the floral, cherry, strawberry and underbrush aromas and flavors. Possesses a firm, sinewy structure, which will allow this to develop over the next 10 to 20 years. (BS)

Good full red. Knockout nose combines red cherry, rose petal, cinnamon, sage and minerals. At once opulent and juicy, with compelling spice and balsamic notes to the wine's sweet raspberry fruit. Wonderfully sweet and precise wine, silkier than the Monvigliero but also showing outstanding grip and lift. In comparison, the 2007 is as long but a bit more gamey.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 Barolo Cannubi bursts from the glass with freshly cut flowers, black cherries, menthol and spices. It is a cool, reserved wine with plenty of Cannubi character. The 2008 is very young, but striking. The delineation, textural elegance and complexity are all first-rate. (AG)
James Suckling
Aromas of smoked meat, blackberries and hints of lemons follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a bright finish. Balanced and lively. Better in 2014.
