A discreet touch of wood sets off the notably spicy nose of white flowers, lemon peel, mineral reduction and seaweed scents. There is remarkably intensity to the massively rich, powerful and concentrated palate staining big-bodied flavors that possess real size and weight on the hugely long finish that is perhaps a bit less austere than usual. This is a blockbuster of a wine and while in 2010 I prefer the greater refinement of the Valmur, the Les Clos is more impressively imposing plus it should age effortlessly.
