Today, the 2011 Meursault Les Genevrières is a bit of a mystery. Texturally the wine is quite open, expressive and creamy, but the vineyard signatures are much less pronounced than they were a year ago. It may be that the wine is still a bit shy post-bottling, or the personality of the year may have become more pronounced with time. Only time will tell. The one thing that is for sure is that this is a gorgeous Genevrières endowed with tons of style. Slate, pear and crushed rock nuances linger on the close. (AG) 94+
