Fresh, dark red. Musky black raspberry and gunflint on the nose, lifted by pungent mineral and floral elements. Fully ripe but with terrific energy from the 70% whole-cluster fermentation and a powerful crushed-rock element. Today this wine's superb vivacity partly masks its serious underling material. Should evolve slowly and gracefully. A sentimental favorite. 93+
