The 2012 Nuits St Georges les Didiers Cuvee Hospice de Nuits has a very generous and quite intense iodine and black cherry nose, although it seems incongruous with that carapace of new oak dominating the aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe tannins and a keen thread of acidity, although it does not express the terroir in such an accomplished manner as the other premier crus.
