Critics Scores
James Suckling
A very concentrated and pure expression, this shows lemon and lemon-barley aromas on the nose with a mouthy grapefruit thread to boot. Unevolved and pure, highlighting aromas of spring flowers. The palate's super long, concentrated and powerful, boasting a polished phenolic texture and a long thread of lemon-citrus-fruit flavors. The acidity sits in neat balance, and tangelo undertones define the finish. This is excellent. Drink 2020–2030.
Wine Spectator
Densely layered, with ginger geleé, creamed pineapple, heather honey and lemon shortbread notes, all offset by a racy salted butter spine. Bright honeysuckle and chamomile accents dapple the finish, which shows terrific length and definition. Drink now through 2022.

The 2012 Ermitage Cuvee de l'Oree is still firing on all cylinders, sporting heavenly notes of powdered rock, white flowers, honeyed orange blossom, white currants and a saltiness that keeps you coming back to the glass. Full-bodied, voluptuous and decadent, drink it anytime over the coming 2-3 decades.
