Critics Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Omnia is made from 80 Grenache and 10 each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, and was vinified with 100 whole cluster and aged two years in barrel (on lees) with no racking before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. It has a creaminess and suppleness (no doubt due to the extended lees contact) to go with terrific notes of black raspberries, crushed flowers, incense and Asian spice. Medium to full-bodied, fresh, tight and lively, yet with good richness, it needs 2-4 years of cellaring and will keep through 2027.
Wine Spectator
Beguiling wood spice, Lapsang souchong tea and warmed raspberry and blackberry coulis aromas and flavors glide along in this gorgeous red, enhanced by a shiso leaf note and backed by a silky, iron-edged finish that is deceptively long. A very distinctive style. Best from 2017 through 2030.
