Still in barrel, the 2013 Soul Of A Lion checks in as a rough blend of 83 Cabernet Sauvignon, 9 Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot that's aging in 100 new French oak. It's a serious effort that has lots of chalky minerality in its blue fruits, espresso roast, lead pencil and graphite-styled bouquet. Made in a full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal style, it has terrific purity of fruit, a massive mid-palate and ample sweet tannin. Drink this beauty anytime over the coming 10-15 years.
