The 2013 Cerro Sur is deep, powerful and explosive. Black cherry, smoke, mocha and licorice are some of the notes that are fused together in Favia's Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Ample and generous on the palate, the 2013 is going to need at least a few years to settle down, as the tannins are imposing today. Dark red and black-fleshed fruit, iron, smoke and graphite add nuance on the tense, salivating finish. Cerro Sur is 84 Cabernet Franc from Rancho Chimiles and 16 Cabernet Sauvignon from Meteor.
