Reduction pushes the underlying fruit to the background. By contrast there is excellent freshness and complexity to the rich, round and solidly concentrated flavors that possess a taut muscularity before concluding in a noticeably dry, clean and impressively persistent if youthfully austere finish. This powerful yet refined effort should reward up to a decade of cellar time. Recommended.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Tête du Clos has another rich and lively bouquet like the 2014 Baudines adorned with orange zest, citrus fruit, coconut and mango scents all vying for attention. Perhaps it would benefit from more control, but then it would be half the fun. The palate is underpinned by a quite piercing acidity counterbalanced by rich, lightly honeyed fruit.
