Critics Scores
Wine Enthusiast
This is the second wine of Larrivet Haut-Brion. It is rich with tannins and juicy with black-currant acidity. As befits a second wine, it is developing well and easily. Drink from 2021. While it shares the same name as Château Haut-Brion, there is no ownership or location connection between the two properties.
Vinous
The 2014 Larrivet Haut-Brion is superb. Ripe red cherry, plum, spice, rose petal and savory herbs are neatly fused together. Succulent, fleshy and inviting, the 2014 is showing exceptionally well today. This supple, racy Pessac-Leognan should drink well right out of the gate.
James Suckling
The cranberry and cherry notes on the nose are pretty, and this wine also has a firm core of ripe tannins and good concentration with some real sophistication on the finish.
Wine Spectator
Fleshy and warm in feel, featuring plum and blackberry compote notes that hang over tar and bramble accents. Well-integrated overall, with the tarry element providing grip through the broad finish.
