Morlet makes one Syrah from a 1,000-foot elevation vineyard in Bennett Valley. This is 100 destemmed and is very Côte-Rôtie-like, even though there is no cofermented Viognier in the blend. The 2014 Syrah Bouquet Garni shows wonderful lychee nut, peppery, meaty notes with black raspberries, blackberries, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel with good acidity, olive tapenade and a long, heady finish. This is just a beauty – sexy, lush and best drunk over the next decade
