Critics Scores
Decanter
Notes of red cherry, cassis, woodsmoke and cedary new wood are the prelude to a nicely focussed palate with a firm chassis of fine, chalky tannins. This is always quite a linear, strict Corton (from the Pendand side), but the 2015 vintage has brought a bit more generosity to the attack than is customary here. Drinking Window 2025 - 2050.(WK)
Burghound
Exuberantly spicy and earth-suffused black cherry liqueur-like aromas introduce rich, concentrated and suave big-bodied flavors that possess a lovely sense of vibrancy before culminating in an attractively textured finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This built-to-age Corton manages to be both concentrated and serious yet not at all rustic. (91-94)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Corton Grand Cru was assembled just before racking and had recently been transferred into tank and is due for bottling next April. Clear in color, it has ample redcurrant jus and crushed strawberry scents, almost pastille-like on the nose. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin, red fruit at first veering towards darker, more confit-like fruit towards the structured finish with a speck of black pepper. It will fill out once in bottle and should turn into a fine Corton.(91-93)
