The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru les Pezerolles has quite a dense, rich bouquet with cassis-tinged red berry fruit, actually more like a Volnay in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite dense in the mouth again, saline and lightly spiced towards the finish that has good fleshiness and length. This is very fine.

Once again discreet wood serves as a relatively neutral backdrop for the notably floral-suffused aromas, and in particular rose petal and violet, that enjoy added breadth in the form of dark berry fruit liqueur-like scents. There is a more refined if less concentrated mouth feel to the attractively mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that exhibit lovely persistence on the balanced finish. This is very pretty if not as complex as the best of these 1ers.
