Critics Scores
Wine Spectator
This red offers ample ripe cherry, strawberry and currant aromas and flavors, well-meshed with a solid backbone and energy. Elegance is the theme, presenting a lingering finish that replays the fruit notes and adds a chalky, mineral element. Best from 2023 through 2045.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts has a tightly-wound bouquet that needed some coaxing from the glass, eventually unfurling with enticing aromas of small red cherries, raspberry, crushed violets and a subtle slate-like scent. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, wonderful structure, an imperious Les Beaux Monts that stretches its wings towards the finish and delivers a quite compelling, vibrant, energetic finish with enormous depth. This is probably the best from this vineyard in 2015. 95-97 points.
Vinous
Good medium red. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, spices and roast coffee show a slightly liqueur-like ripeness. Glyceral-thick and seamless but a bit more imploded and backward than the Boudots, conveying terrific spicy energy and thrust. Finishes with building, ripe tannins and harmonious acidity. Perhaps a bit less seductive today than it was from barrel in late 2016, but everything is in its proper place. This beauty just needs time. 94+ points.
Burghound
A discreet application of wood frames the slightly fresher exuberantly spicy and notably ripe aromas of dark currant, violet and Asian-style tea. The rich, sleek and mineral-driven flavors display focused power on the saline, punchy and strikingly long and linear finale. This beauty is quite firmly structured and will need at least a few years first. 2027+
