The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Combettes has a strict and linear bouquet, earthier than the Puligny Folatières, broody at first but gradually opening in the glass. The palate is well balanced, vibrant and crisp with impressive tension. This builds with much more gusto in the mouth than the nose, fanning out with a touch of lemongrass towards the finish and very impressive persistence. This is one of the best from Domaine Leflaive this year in terms of transcending expectations. 92-94 points
