Burghound
This too displays notes of smoky mineral reduction along with notes of green apple, spiced pear and white flowers. There is a beguiling sense of tension to the sleekly muscular big-bodied flavors that are also quite mineral-driven on the powerful, beautifully long and citrus-tinged finale.
Wine Spectator
Opulent, sporting a broad swath of peach, apple, honey and spice flavors across the palate, well-supported by tangy acidity. Hangs around on the finish for a long time, echoing ripe fruit and spice notes. Excellent length. (BS)
Decanter
A 50:50 blend of fruit from Ladoix and from Pernand, this is a classic Corton-Charlemagne showing a reserved bouquet of crushed rocks, lemon and white flowers. The glossy, textural but tight-knit palate has a firm core of vibrant acidity and extract. (SB)
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is very fine, offering up notes of preserved citrus, white peach, toasted nuts and petrol. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated and powerful, with a deep core and serious structural musculature, juicy acids, and a long, chewy finish. This is notably deeper and more complete than it showed from barrel in the fall of 2016, which seems to confirm Pierre-Yves's observation that in his experience Corton-Charlemagne is one of the wines that benefits most from long élevage. (WK)
Vinous
Bright, light yellow. Very reticent but pure scents of lemon zest, menthol and wet stone convey outstanding calcaire energy. Tactile and energetic, displaying an exhilarating balance of sweet and saline elements. The impression of sucrosité gives the middle palate a creamy richness but the intense nectarine fruit comes across as extremely primary and fresh. Finishes with outstanding palate-dusting minerality and rising length. Not at all austere owing to its tactility, but this wine should nonetheless age slowly and gracefully. (ST)
