A slightly riper nose exhibits a mild exoticism with good freshness to the bright white peach, citrus and floral scents. There is both more refinement and minerality to the medium-bodied flavors that are plump and seductive on the mid-palate yet the dry and youthfully austere finish is slightly lean. However my rating assumes that this will flesh out if given a few years of bottle age first.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Beaune 1Er Cru Clos des Mouches was picked on 28 September and matured in 30 new oak for 15 months. There is a pleasant touch of reduction on the nose that does not impede upon terroir expression: nicely defined with scent of grilled walnut and smoke. The palate is well balanced with a fresh entry, that slight reduction continuing but there is a welcome smear of clear honey toward the lightly spiced finish. Not bad at all.
