There are two barrels of the 2016 Musigny Grand Cru, one new and one used, 100 whole bunch. There is much more gusto on the nose compared to the Bonnes-Mares, with upfront, expressive red cherry, wild strawberry and cold stone aromas, later complemented by wilted rose petals and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied, but there is much more body and presence here compared to the Bonnes-Mares: fine tannin, just the right amount of salinité with a complex and sustained finish. There is a nobility about this Musigny, and that is what we expect to find in a bottle. Superb. 95-97 Points
