The 2016 Morey St Denis 1er Cru les Chaffots was matured in 30 new oak and includes 25 whole bunch fruit. It has a complex bouquet: blackberry, bilberry jam, cold stone and light undergrowth scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple, very lithe in the mouth with pure red berry fruit laced with orange zest and allspice toward the finish that fans out superbly. What a superb, delicious Morey St Denis from Laurent Lignier.
