This was tricky to taste in Yves Confruon's warren of a cellar, not because of the lack of light but because it had completed its malolactic fermentation late. It's a serious, backward wine at the best of times, but seemed to be even more so this time. It's firm, chewy and densely structured with meaty, palate-challenging tannins and the concentration to age.
