This small, family run estate located in Gevrey Chambertin has produced an elegant, ethereal 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Vieille Vigne, which was brought up mostly in used oak (20 new). Light ruby-hued, it has an ethereal bouquet of bright strawberries, raspberries, forest floor, violets, and sappy herbs. It’s lightweight and elegant on the palate, with beautiful overall balance, silky tannins, and outstanding length on the finish. It needs air to show at its best, and while it has the ripe, approachable style of the vintage, I’d give bottles a handful years in the cellar.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Offering up notes of ripe cherries, dried rose petals, licorice and sweet soil tones, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, satiny and expressive, with a layered core of sappy fruit and a pure finish. It's somewhat deeper than the Morey Clos Solon, but it's similarly charming and drinkable. (WK)
