Winemaking is an art form. Case and point: 2017 Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot Bourgogne Blanc. The painstaking level of detail put into this chardonnay is usually reserved for the halls of the Louvre. Grapes are hand-harvested from 13 different parcels. Then Roulot vinifies, matures, and bottles this Bourgogne blanc in his cellar. The result is an inviting chardonnay with notes of white flowers, citrus, pear, and a splash of honey. The medium to full body showcases superb concentration, with the fruity purity taking center stage. Salinity and a gentle smokiness add depth and punchiness to this already generous wine.
