Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras wafts from the glass a pure and expressive bouquet of cherries, cassis and violets that was still quite primary when I tasted it. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy but youthfully tight-knit, and it will need further élevage to round out and open up. The outlines, however, are promising.
Burghound
An exuberantly fresh if brooding nose displays essence of red cherry, raspberry and soft earth aromas that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The sappy yet tightly round and well-detailed mineral-driven flavors culminate in a lingering and once again very focused, youthfully austere and backward finale. Again, patience strongly advised.
Vinous
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Cras 1er Cru has a more elegant, refined bouquet compared to the Aux Boudots this year, displaying very fine delineation to the pure, precocious mulberry and blackberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, layers of lightly tarred black fruit and a rounded, quite sensual finish that lingers in the mouth. Recommended.
