This is aromatically similar to the straight Meursault villages but with more prominent floral nuances. The solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract and excellent richness to the palate coating and nicely powerful finish. This appealingly textured effort is quite tightly wound and will need time in bottle to fully mature.

Stand in the doorway of Jean-Marc Roulot's winery and you can see Clos des Ambres on the other side of the street. Think of it as a super village wine, showing the tautness and minerality that comes with the territory when Arnaud Ente is making the wine. Herbal and almost grassy, it has notes of lemongrass and lime and a zesty, tightly wound finish.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A beautiful wine, Ente's 2018 Meursault Clos des Ambres unwinds to reveal aromas of pear, orange oil, wheat toast, chamomile and subtle hints of praline. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with lively acids and chalky structuring extract, it's an elegant, nicely concentrated rendition of a cuvée that I've always particularly enjoyed chez Ente. I suspect it will develop very nicely with some time in bottle. Rating : 92+
