Burghound
Deep ruby color. A beautifully broad-ranging nose reflects notes of black raspberry, cassis, exotic tea, violet and a hint of sandalwood. Here too the medium weight flavors possess a notably sleek mouthfeel along with outstanding intensity and detail, all wrapped in a dusty, serious and youthfully austere finish. This balanced effort is even firmer and is a wine that will need at least 6 to 8 years to be approachable. (Drink starting 2030).

Decanter
François Millet makes this wine from four, young-vine parcels of Musigny, declassified to Premier Cru status. Youthful, vigorous and deeply colored, this is a chrysalis of a wine that finished its malolactic fermentation in July 2019 and is still relatively unformed. Smooth and plush on the palate with aromatic 25 new wood, some chalky minerality and some tannic grip. Drinking Window 2026 - 2034.
Vinous
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, from the young vines in Musigny, has more intensity than the Village Cru, coming across slightly more opaque and secretive. The palate is beautifully balanced with saturated tannin and a fine thread of acidity. Full of energy that flows through the sorbet-fresh finish, and silky-smooth in texture. This oft-overlooked cuvée comes highly recommended. Superb.
