A very ripe yet still reasonably fresh nose grudgingly reveals notes of poached plum, cassis, warm earth and a touch of forest floor. The big-bodied flavors possess a highly seductive texture that is at once opulent and velvety, all wrapped in a robust, powerful and exceptionally firm finish that exhibits outstanding length. Even so, this is one big Clos de Vougeot that is going to require a very long snooze in a cool cellar.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Another masterpiece in the making from the Mugneret family is the 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, a stunning young wine that unwinds in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of cherries, wild berries, exotic spices, peonies, rose petals and sweet soil tones. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a layered and concentrated core, strikingly refined tannins, lively acids and a long, resonant finish. This is always a Clos Vougeot that nods to nearby Musigny, and that has never been truer than in the 2018 vintage.

Vinous
The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is matured in 70 new oak. It has an exquisite bouquet of vivacious red cherry and wild strawberry fruit infused with superb mineralité and displaying great precision. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a touch of dark chocolate on the entry and lithe, saturated tannins on the silky finish. Wonderful.
