Burghound
This is riper than its 2019 counterpart with an elegant nose that is composed by notes of red currant, dark cherry, violet and discreet spice nuances. There is better freshness to the gorgeously textured middle weight flavors are at once silky and seductive though the impressively complex, youthfully austere and lingering finish tightens up considerably as it sits on the palate. This is more opulent than it usually is and though moderately structured, it should be approachable relatively young if that's your preference.
Vinous
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is positively bulging with black and red fruit on the nose of dense blackberry and bilberry; a light marine influence surfaces with time. The palate is well balanced with firm, grippy tannins that feel more robust and slightly drier than the 2019 compared alongside. A little brusque on the finish at the moment; this will require time.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Roumier's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village opens in the glass with notes of ripe cherries, raspberries and plums, complemented by hints of warm spices, smoke and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's ripe and muscular, with a lively core of fruit and rich, powdery tannins. More powerful than its 2017 counterpart, this will require some patience.
