Burghound.com
(Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Chambertin Grand Cru Red) An overtly floral-suffused nose is comprised by very cool and restrained wild red berries, herbal tea and spice elements. The exceptionally intense, sleek and markedly stony broad-shouldered flavors possess a really lovely texture markedly austere and beautifully balanced finish. This is also quite compact and backward and I would strongly recommend not even touching a bottle for at least 10 years and this beauty should reward 20+. (Drink starting 2038)
Decanter
The domaine's two parcels of Chambertin, which add up to 1.6ha and were planted in the 1940s and 1960s, are right in the middle of this prestigious Grand Cru so are a very pure expression of the terroir. Made without pigeage to retain elegance and freshness, this is a wonderfully racy, nuanced, balanced Pinot Noir with velvety tannins, pomegranate and red cherry fruit and scented 30 new oak.
