If you're going to buy just one village Chassagne-Montrachet in 2018, this should be it. Situated right next to Bâtard-Montrachet, it's a taut, pithy, focused wine that will reward cellaring, with underlying power, assertive oak spice, hints of aniseed and yeast extract and a tangy, mouthwatering finish. Your chance to taste some PYCM magic at an appealing price.

Once again there is a whiff of exoticism to the mostly floral and white peach scented nose. The supple and relatively easy-going flavors possess a seductive texture while coating the palate with sappy dry extract that contrasts with the citrusy finish that tightens up considerably as it sits on the palate. This will need to develop more depth to merit the upper end of my projected range.
