The 2019 Volnay Clos de Verseuil 1er Cru a monopole of the domaine is completely de-stemmed and matured in 30 new oak. It has one of my favourite bouquets with gorgeous shimmering red fruit laced with rose petal and light incense aromas all beautifully defined. The palate is slightly reduced but that does not disguise the intense mineral-driven red fruit that merges into darker fruit and more saline notes towards the finish. A superb Volnay that will deserve 4 or 5 years in bottle. Ten barrels produced. (Drink between 2025-2045) 93-95
