About This Wine
Dominus is one of the great American wines. The red blend hails from the historic Napanook Vineyard, which sits in the foothills of Mayacamas. While the vineyard was planted in 1838, it didn’t achieve global acclaim until legacy winemaker Christian Moueix took the helm. In the last decade alone, this cult cabernet has notched a whopping 14 perfect scores from critics. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 90 cabernet sauvignon, 6 petit verdot, and 4 cabernet franc that captures the uniqueness its terroir. It’s round, juicy, and earthy, with a reserved personality and plenty of potential. Wine critic Lisa Perrotti-Brown projects this gem to age well for another four decades, calling it “a spectacular expression of the vintage.” The Final Sip: Any serious collector California cult cabs would be remiss to omit 2019 Dominus from their cellar.
