About This Wine
The history of Château Gruaud Larose has more twists and turns than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. To collectors and connoisseurs of the estate, though, one thing is abundantly clear - Château Gruaud Larose knows great wine. Its grand vin has never received a rating below 90. Moreover, critics routinely praise this Bordeaux red blend for its rich textures, unassailable purity, and “one hell of a great finish,” according to Jeb Dunnuck. The 2020 Château Gruaud Larose continues the estate’s tradition of excellence. The cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc blend makes its presence felt immediately, with juicy black fruits and classic Saint Julien freshness spring forth from the glass. Fine-grained tannins glide across the mid-palate, leading to a spice-laden finish that should age well for two-plus decades. The Final Sip: Ownership changes. Château Gruaud Larose doesn’t. This Bordeaux red blend consistently earned ratings in the mid-90s, and the 2020 vintage is no exception.
