The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is raised with 70% whole bunch and around 80% new oak. Here, I feel that the stems are just jutting out a little more compared to the Grands Echézeaux and slightly obscures the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, fine backbone, perhaps without the same amplitude on the finish as either the Echézeaux or its "big brother". Still, this will give two or three decades of drinking pleasure. (NM) 92-94
