Time horizons represent the period when your wine is expected to reach peak value, coinciding with its ideal maturity. Most fine wines typically mature within 7 to 10+ years, though this can vary depending on the specific wine. Once your wine nears this optimal window, our team will begin reaching out to potential buyers to secure the best possible selling price. If you prefer to hold your wine longer or have it shipped to you, you can let us know at that time.
For Plus, Premium, and Grand Cru clients, time horizons can be customized based on your desired hold period by updating your Account Settings. These changes will only apply to future purchases and will not impact the time horizons of wines already in your portfolio.
It’s important to remember that wine and whiskey are long-term, illiquid assets. Selling outside of their ideal time horizon may result in lower returns, and the rate of appreciation may not fully cover costs, such as Vinovest transaction fees and third-party selling expenses.
